Analytical
Essay on James Langston Hughes
James
Langston Hughes was a wonderful African-American writer. He came from a very
hard childhood, yet he never let that hold him back. His father was ashamed of
their race, but not Langston, he was a very proud African-American man. Many
of his works were written about the hardships that blacks had to face. Hughes
was a very important writer during the Harlem Renaissance. This artistic movement
for African-Americans celebrated black life and culture.
I
have really enjoyed reading his works! Hughes was a very proud and brave black
man. He definitely overcame many obstacles that most black men of his time would
have let bring them down. Hughes, through his works, condemned racism, promoted
equality, and celebrated his race.
